6. 'Play Friendly' requires 1 credit to play is a 'one-off' match between 2 players and does not update the Leaderboard.

7. 'Play World Cup' requires 1 credit to commence and entitles the player to attempt to progress through the tournament. 'Play World Cup' follows the format of the World Cup. Players must win two of the three First Round 'group' matches to progress to the Knockout stages. Players can afford to lose 1 match and still progress. If you are beaten in the Semi Finals you will be awarded a 'Bronze Medal' which will be posted on the Leaderboard. If you are beaten in the Final you will be awarded a 'Silver Medal' which will be posted on the Leaderboard. World Cup winners will be awarded a 'Gold Medal' which will be posted on the Leaderboard.

8.The Leaderboard is updated every 2 minutes and can be viewed at www.worldcuptrivia.co.uk/leaderboard.htm. Players are ranked according to the following protocol: Number of World Cups won then number of finals reached then number of semi finals reached then goals scored during these games then goal difference (i.e. goals scored minus goals conceded) during these games. In the event of a tie, a tie-breaker competition will be played between the players concerned. The tie-breaker will consist of 10 questions asked over the phone by the Promoter. The payer which answers the most questions correctly will be ranked in the higher position which is being contested.

9. To pass the ball you must click a player and answer the question correctly. To shoot click the ball in the goal when in range. The longer your move the more difficult your question will be. You are given a maximum of 4 moves before conceding possession. In the 1 player game when you concede possession your opponent will automatically select its move. You are required to answer the next question correctly to regain possession. If you answer incorrectly your opponent will complete its move.

10. Help functions are available: 'Free Kick' resets the question timer giving you more time to answer: 'Pass' gives you a new question of the same yardage: 'Striker' takes away ONE wrong answer. These functions can only be used once per match. At the quarter final stage Pass is unavailable, in the semi final both Pass and Freekick are unavailable, in the final all help functions are disabled.

11. If any match is drawn after 90 minutes you must play a penalty shootout to decide the winner. 1 Player games are decided by sudden death rules i.e. answer your own penalty question to score, answer your opponent's penalty question to save. If the shootout is tied after five penalties per side the match will be decided by a one-off question. The 2 player game is decided by standard penalty rules i.e. each player receives five penalties. If the shootout is tied after all penalties have been taken the match will be declared a draw.
